Mt. Shishapangma (8,012m), located
at 85.7 east longitude and 28.3 north latitude,
stands in the middle section of the Himalayan
Mountains. To the east of Mt. Shishapangma is Mt.
Molamenchen (7,703m), to the west are Mt. Xifeng
(7,792m), and Mt. Nandengri (7,205m), and to the
northwest is Mt. Kangbochen (7,281m). This mountain
was first successfully climbed in 1964 by a Chinese
team led by Hsu Ching. |
