Mt. Chomolangma (Mt. Everest), the
main peak of the Himalayan mountains, is the highest
peak in the world. Mt. Chomolangma, rising 8,848.13
metres above the sea level, is located at 27.9 north
latitude and 86.9 east longitude. It straddles the
east section of the border between China and Nepal,
with the northern side lying in Tingri County of
Tibet. |
