The path called Druk, once
kept apart from the visitors to avoid the
Tibetan troops by Bhutanese government, now
has invited the eyes waiting for the
exploration of its unique culture, landscape
and sparsely populated area. Druk Path has
its own significance for the visitors. The
peculiar high ridges that remain windy most
of the time of the year, classic mountains
with charming and enchanting bush of
rhododendron, and historically preserved
reminiscence of forts are the sights to

breathtaking views of the Himalayas can be
an outlandish experience. |

Itinerary of Druk Path
Trek in detail |
Days 01 :
Kathmandu to Paro Fly
Fly to Paro from Kathmandu. |
Days 02 :
Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Drugyal Dzong. From here
the peak of Chomolhari also known as Mountain of the
Goddess " can be viewed clearly. On the way visit a
typical Bhutanese farmhouse. |
Days 03 :
Paro - Excursion to Taksang
After breakfast full day hiking to Taktsang
Monastery, the tiger's Nest.This magical Monastery
clings to a vertical granite cliff 4000 ft. above
the valley floor. |
Days 04 :
Paro to Jele Dzong (2576 m)
This is a short trekking day. The trek continues to
Jele Dzong. |
Days 05 :
Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha (2879 m)
The trek takes you through thick alpine forest and
dwarf rhododendron trees. You may see yaks and yak
herders around this area. |
Days 06 :
Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso
The trek follows the ridge and a clear view of the
mountains and valleys till the Jimilangto, which is
the Lake known for their giant sized trout's. |
Days 07 :
Jimilangtso to Simkota (3485 m)
The trek takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees
and the lake of Janesto.You may even see some yaks. |
Days 08 :
Simkota to Phajoding (2879 m)
The trek begins with the climb and you can have the
spectacular view of Mount Gangkhar Punsum, the
highest mountain in Bhutan as well as other
Himalayan mountain ranges from the Dochula pass. |
Days 09 :
Phajoding to Thimphu
The trek to Thimphu is all the way downhill through
a forested area of mostly blue pine. |
Days 10 :
Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to visit Tashichho Dzong.Also
visit the handicraft emporium where Bhutanese
textiles and other arts are displayed. Visit the
painting and woodcraft schools where traditional art
and painting are still kept alive. Visit the
Memorial Chorten, the National Library and Simtokha
Dzong. |
Days 11 :
Thimphu to Excursion to Punakha/Wangdi
After breakfast drive to Punakha and Wangdi
Valley.Punakha is the former capital of Bhutan from
Thimphu and Wangdi is the 16 kms away from Punakha. |
Days 12 :
Thimphu to Paro to Kathmandu Fly
Drive to Paro and then fly back to Kathmandu. |
